In The Moment

It seems to be human nature to get lost in the pursuit of what we don’t have while missing the blessing of what we do have. We let our minds be in five other places instead of the present. We fail to steward our moments well, because we are so focused on where we aren’t. If God is speaking anything to my heart right now it is to be present in this moment…basking in the blessing of what it contains. It’s so much harder than it sounds like it should be. I’m trying to be better focused on what is presently in my hands. There is much. Much to do. Much to steward. Much to be thankful for. Much to enjoy. Much to give.

I believe THAT is the key to success. Not gaining more. Not getting further. Not doing better. The key to success is being fully in this moment, doing what God has put in our hands and giving Him the glory for it. This moment is where we find success and also where we measure it.

This year will mark the 40 year birthday of when I was born again, the anniversary of the day I began a relationship with my Savior. Wow. Time crawls and flies all at the same time. I am here today because of all the moments that added upon each other; all the days that came together and built a life. It wasn’t due to any grand or spectacular circumstances, but minute-by-minute faith. And I’m so incredibly grateful for what faith built…what God built.

This moment is enough. God in this moment is enough.
